The Vikings are entering the most crucial off-season in franchise history. The tide could turn either way on this club which means Rick Spielman and company better handle personnel moves more carefully than Brad Childress' offense handled the ball Sunday night. This is one that the Vikings can ill afford to fumble away.

The long publicized lease with the Metrodome, now referred to as Mall of America field, is set to expire after two more seasons and the last thing Zygi Wilf wanted is heartbreak and agony spreading across the state of Minnesota. The Vikings must deliver in all facets of the executive portion of the game. The Draft, a possible uncapped free agency period and retaining quality talent such as Brett Favre, Chester Taylor and Ray Edwards are vital if this team is to rebound and make another run at an ever elusive Super Bowl title.

Zygi Wilf has done everything in his power to make the Vikings a contender, but it could be crashing down around him if the team hands the keys to Tarvaris Jackson and lets him speed away with the car like a 16-year-old who just passed his driver's test. And, just as a parent counting the seconds until their child returns with the vehicle, Zygi would be pacing back and forth with his fingers crossed hoping for the best. I can’t imagine that’s what the Vikings envisioned for their fan base at this crucial time. Besides.....
